Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating a Cheghel account, posting a job, or applying to a job, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Cheghel.

2. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old to use Cheghel.
• You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when you register.
• You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.
• One account per person. Employers may operate a separate company account in addition to a personal account.

3. What Cheghel Is

Cheghel is a two-sided job marketplace for Lebanon. We are not a party to the employment relationship between seekers and employers. We do not employ, vet, screen, endorse, or guarantee any employer, seeker, job listing, review, or application.

We provide the platform, payments for platform access, and related tools. Everything else, the employment relationship, pay, conditions, references, and work, is between you and the other party.

4. Content You Submit

You retain ownership of the content you submit (profile data, CV, job descriptions, reviews, messages). By submitting content, you grant Cheghel a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, and process that content strictly for the purpose of operating the platform and delivering our services to you.

You represent and warrant that:

• The content is yours, or you have the right to submit it.
• The content is accurate and is not misleading or fraudulent.
• The content does not infringe any third party's rights or violate any law.

5. Reviews of Companies

• Only subscribed seekers who have had a genuine working relationship with the company may leave a review.
• Reviews must be truthful, in good faith, based on personal experience, and free of harassment, slurs, threats, or confidential information (salary details of other employees, trade secrets, client names, etc.).
• Reviewer identity is confidential. It is never disclosed publicly, and it is not available to employers, to other users, or to Cheghel moderators through the platform — the reviewer field is withheld at the database itself, not merely hidden in the interface, under Law 81/2018.
• One exception, stated plainly: we may disclose a reviewer's identity where we are required to by law, or on the binding order or lawful request of a court, regulator or other competent authority. We cannot promise confidentiality against a legal obligation, and we would rather say so here than imply a protection we could not keep. No other circumstance — including an employer's request, a dispute about a review, or a threat of legal action that has not produced such an order — will cause us to reveal who wrote a review.
• We may remove reviews that violate these rules. Employers have a right of reply via the platform.

6. Employer Responsibilities

• Every job post must be for a real, currently funded position.
• Salary is mandatory on every listing. Ghost jobs are a breach of these Terms and a ground for immediate removal.
• You must not filter candidates by religion or sect, political affiliation, age, marital or family status, physical appearance, sexual orientation or gender identity, or disability. Those seven are hard-blocked by the platform and each attempt is logged as a compliance event. Gender and nationality are not in that list: both are lawful hiring criteria in Lebanon where the role genuinely requires them, including work-permit verification and professions legally restricted to nationals.
• You must not contact candidates for any purpose other than the role you posted.
• Verification badges are granted only after admin review of documentation. Misrepresenting your company is a ground for termination.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Post misleading, fraudulent, or duplicate listings.
• Scrape, crawl, or bulk-download data from Cheghel without written permission.
• Attempt to unmask anonymous reviewers or pressure seekers to identify themselves.
• Use automated tools to create accounts, apply to jobs, or post reviews.
• Circumvent the information wall (company names, salaries) or the payment gates.
• Upload malware, run exploits, or probe the platform for vulnerabilities outside a responsible disclosure process.
• Impersonate another person or company.
• Send unsolicited commercial communications through Cheghel messaging, WhatsApp, or email channels.

8. Fees and Payments

Cheghel cannot take a payment today. No payment provider is connected to this site, no payment method can be added, and no charge can be made against you. The prices in “Pricing when payments open” below are not in force. They are published here so you can see them before they apply, and they apply only from the date payments open — which has not been set.

What applies today

• Posting a job is free for verified employers, and for as long as it is free there is no limit on how many jobs you post. A listing goes live once your company is verified — verification, not payment, is the gate. A published listing runs for 30 days, and republishing it costs nothing.
• Cheghel Plus, Cheghel Pro and credit packs cannot be bought. Where a price for them appears on this site, it is shown for information and the purchase control is disabled.

Pricing when payments open (not in force)

• Cheghel Plus, for job seekers — $3.99 per month, or one longer package billed once: $9.99 for 3 months, $18.99 for 6 months, or $32.99 for 12 months.
• Cheghel Pro, for employers — $50 per month, which includes 2 job postings and 1 team seat. Beyond that allowance:
  • each additional posting is $10 per week, capped at $25 per additional posting per month (one week $10, two weeks $20, three weeks or longer $25);
  • each additional team seat is $10 per month.
  The cap is half the monthly subscription, so an additional posting never costs more than one of the two included with it. Re-publishing a listing within the same subscription month does not use a second posting; republishing it into a later one does.
• Credit packs, buyable by any account — 50 credits for $3, 200 credits for $10, or 500 credits for $20.
• All prices are in United States dollars.

• Subscription features are delivered month by month with no rollover. Unused months do not carry over.
• We will update these Terms, name the payment provider handling charges, and state the date the prices above take effect, before any charge is taken. Once charging begins, fees will be non-refundable except where required by law.

9. Subscription Cancellation

No subscription can be bought on Cheghel today, so there is nothing to cancel and no cancellation control exists. This clause describes what will apply when subscriptions open. It is published now so the terms are known in advance, and because a terms page that says nothing about cancellation is worse than one that says the mechanism is still being built.

When subscriptions open, you will be able to cancel from your account settings, and cancelling will stop the next renewal — you will not be charged again. We will not require you to contact support, send an email, or give a reason in order to cancel.

What cancelling does. Cancelling stops the next renewal. The period you have already paid for runs to its end — you keep the paid features until that period expires, and you are not cut off on the day you cancel. The amount already paid for that period is not refunded, in whole or in part.

When renewal happens. A subscription renews on your billing anniversary — the same date of the month on which you first paid — and each renewal covers the same length of period you bought. A monthly subscription renews monthly; a 3, 6 or 12-month package renews at the end of its term, on that same anniversary date. Cancelling before the anniversary means no further payment is taken.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, submit fraudulent content, abuse other users, or use the platform in a way that threatens its integrity. You can close your account at any time at /data-request.

11. AI Features

Cheghel uses AI (Anthropic Claude) to rank applicants, extract data from CVs, and answer HR queries. AI output is advisory only. Employers remain responsible for their hiring decisions. Religion-based HR queries are blocked by the platform and cannot be executed.

We do not send your data to AI providers for model training. See the Privacy Policy for details.

12. Disclaimers

Cheghel is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

We do not guarantee that you will find a job, that you will find a qualified candidate, that listings will produce applicants, or that the platform will be uninterrupted or error-free.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Lebanese law, Cheghel's total liability to you for any claim relating to the platform is limited to the fees you paid to Cheghel in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or loss-of-profits damages.

14. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Cheghel harmless from any claim or demand arising out of content you submit, your breach of these Terms, or your misuse of the platform.

15. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Lebanon. Any dispute will be submitted to the competent courts of Beirut, Lebanon, unless a mandatory consumer protection rule in your jurisdiction gives you a different forum.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. If the changes are material, we notify you by email and an in-app banner at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of Cheghel after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
